Build a full loop around little rock and a new bridge

With talks about 10 laning Interstate 30 in downtown Little rock, the North and south loop freeways need to be built and build a new river bridge somewhere across the river in downtown or somewhere upstream. Little Rock should have built these things decades ago I don't know why it has not happen yet.

Citizen initiative for deposit on beverage containers

In those states that have adopted mandatory deposit laws on beverage containers, trash on streets and streams is markedly reduced. Arkansas being the Natural State needs such a law. People will think twice about throwing a bottle or can on the ground. If they do, an enterprising person will pick them up to redeem the deposit. These laws work!

trash containers on busses

Invariably bus stops are places where trash accumulates, despite the presence of trash containers at some bus stops. Many stops have no containers. Put a trash container at the front of the bus so that trash will be put in its proper place.

ban styrofoam food and beverage containers

A large component of the floatable trash that goes down sewers and into Little Rock streams consists of styrofoam. Styrofoam does not break down. It is not part of the recyclable waste stream. It should be banned.

That whole area could be also great if we could do something about the crime by creating more jobs ...more »

A bigger and better skyline on both sides of the river

I believe that the downtown skyline should expand on both sides of the river to make it look like one whole city. Not saying our skyline is bad but it could be better by adding some more high rise buildings to make it more attractive and iconic.

Improve Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities and Seniors

Over a 1/4 of Arkansans surveyed by the CDC's Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance System (BRFSS) stated that they lived with some form of mental or physical impairment. This number will rise as our population ages. New development and community improvements often meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), but are still not truly convenient or accessible by all. Developers should really focus on and recognize the ...more »

Protect the Highway 10 Scenic Corridor plan and law

The Highway 10 Scenic Corridor design overlay district is the result of visionary citizens in the 1980s making a great plan for the orderly development of Highway 10 in Little Rock (a/k/a west Cantrell Road). The goal is to keep this area pleasant for all those who travel it, whether they be residents or traveling to Pinnacle Mtn, Lake Maumelle, etc. It's the law in Little Rock (Code Section 36-343 through 36-348). ...more »
